Thanking Our Team and Partners
Over 1,200 Mpilonhle staff members, from senior staff to community workers, have contributed to the organisation’s growth and success, with many experiencing their first work opportunity. The majority were hired from local communities. Many have since progressed to senior roles in government, NGOs and the private sector.
We want to thank everyone who has supported Mpilonhle since its inception in 2006, and acknowledge the invaluable contributions made to the welfare and success of the youth Mpilonhle serves.
Our Donors, Past and Present
With initial start-up funding from the Oprah’s Angel Network and the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project in 2006, Mpilonhle has raised more than R200,000,000 to date. These funds have been used to improve the health and social well-being of communities in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
Mpilonhle regularly receives in-kind donations such as TOMS shoes, sanitary pads, soap, food parcels, books and clothing for distribution within the community. It also facilitates large-scale health service interventions, including vision testing programmes and the provision of prescription glasses.
