School and Community-Based Mobile Health Clinics
Delivering Care Where It’s Needed Most
Mpilonhle’s Mobile Community Health Programme (MCHP) aims to extend access to essential healthcare services for local students and their surrounding communities.
Mobile Community Health Programme
The programme’s primary focus is on providing testing services for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), Tuberculosis (TB), and Tuberculosis Resistance (TBR) to local communities.
Holistic Care for Individuals and Communities
Other services provided include family planning consultations and resources, provision of contraceptives, and access to adherence clubs.
Additionally, the programme offers consultation sessions on topics such as obesity, and substance abuse, while also providing support and resources for victims of GBV and sexual abuse.
Referral and Follow Up Services
Referrals and follow-ups are conducted by Mpilonhle staff, including nurses, psychologists, and social workers, as well as through collaboration with government agencies such as local clinics and hospitals, the Department of Social Development, other non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and the South African Police Service (SAPS) for cases involving the reporting of abuse.
