Parenting Training

Mpilonhle’s Hands on Parenting (HOP) Programme, in association with Soul City Institute, aims to equip parents with the necessary tools to form healthy and communicative relationships with their children.

TB Treatment and Prevention

This USAID-funded project identifies and supports over 1,400 patients each year who are infected with Tuberculosis (TB) and Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis (DR-TB) in the uMkhanyakude District of northern KwaZulu-Natal.

Support to the LGBTQ+ community

With grant funding from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Mpilonhle has, since 2023, implemented a programme to provide support to the LGBTQ+ community.

Vision Clinics

Mpilonhle’s OneSight Vision Clinics works with local healthcare providers to deliver accessible eye care and solutions to underserved communities

Food Gardens

Mpilonhle’s Food Garden Programme aims to provide learners from local schools with consistent access to fresh and nutritious food as part of their daily meals. In addition to supporting student nutrition, the programme also assists local families by educating them on how to establish and maintain their own food gardens, promoting self-sufficiency and sustainable food security within the community.

School Shoe Distribution

Through this programme, Mpilonhle distributed over 1.5 million new TOMS shoes to all 260,000 learners across the Umkhanyakude District in KwaZulu-Natal. Each learner received a new pair of shoes every six months throughout the year.

COVID-19 Response

Mpilonhle provided COVID-19-specific support to both the private sector, including South32 and Richards Bay Minerals, and to communities in the King Cetshwayo and Umkhanyakude districts.

Community Job Creation

Mpilonhle, in collaboration with the Independent Development Trust (IDT), established the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) to help reduce local unemployment by providing work opportunities to communities.
